The Departed (2006)
This is the story of two cops fresh out of the police academy and on two very different paths. One is recruited to go undercover and infiltrate the mob. The other has been groomed since childhood to infiltrate the police in order to tip the mobsters. The cops know they have a leak in their department and the mob knows that they have an informer among them. This movie centers around both trying to discover the other.
The players all keep crossing paths at various suspenseful intersections which keeps you wondering who's secret will be discovered first. One close call after another, this movie plays out in true roller coaster fashion. You just know that when one or the other finds their rat, someone will surely die.
Be warned, the language in this movie isn't exactly politically correct and many ethnic slurs are used throughout.
