North By Northwest (1959)
When someone murders a Unted Nations delegate, Roger Thornhill (Cary Grant) is mistaken as the spy turned killer and goes on the lamb. Trying to convince everyone he isn't a spy only seems to convince others that he really is. Enter Eva Marie Saint, who helps Thornhill escape police only to have a motive of her own -- sex?
The police, the government, and criminals alike all want to capture or kill Thornhill, and just when Thornhill thinks he's found someone he can trust, they too have alterior motive and soon betray him in a roller coaster game of cat and mouse.
From the murder in the first scene to the climatic chase on the face of spectacular Mount Rushmore, this movie is well worth its five Oscar nominations and its reputation of being one of Alfred Hitchcock's best films.
