Flicka (2006)

Home from boarding school a semi-rebellious young girl, played by Alison Lohman, returns to life on the family's quarter horse ranch. Riding the open ranges of the ranch she encounters a wild mustang. She becomes intent on taming the wild horse while her father, played by country singer Tim McGraw, is dead set against the possibility of having a wild mustang around that might ruin his quarter horse lineage.

Her father sells the mustang (named Flicka) to a local rodeo against his daughter's wishes. She decides to secretly enter the rodeo in an attempt to win back the mustang.

This is an enjoyable tale of a girl and her horse that is fun for the whole family.
